Childcare Centre Assistant Chef
We are looking for an Assistant Chef to join the kitchen team in our Thornhill Park centre! You will be instrumental in running the day-to-day operations of our centre kitchen. Part-time role, 30 hours per week (6 hours a day).

Located close by to Thornhill Park Primary School, the centre is ideal for busy families. Our service is a state-of-the-art facility with beautiful indoor and outdoor environments for children to learn and grow in. Aspire Early Education Thornhill Park has 8 spacious rooms that support children through their entire learning journey catering for children aged 6 weeks to school age
Skills and experience
We’re looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Commercial Cookery Qualifications / Diploma or higher
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Have the ability to cater for allergies and dietary requirements
- Have a passion for cooking delicious food for children
- Prepare nutritionally balanced meals in line with the Healthy Together Achievement Program
- Ensure health & safety standards are maintained at a high level at all times
- Food safety knowledge
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to work on your own and maintain a clean and functional kitchen
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Current Working with Children check, First-Aid Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- Previous childcare experience will be an advantage but not necessary
