Collections Team Leader

Realty Assist provides a payment platform for real estate agencies across Australia to facilitate payment solutions for their clients. Our online invoicing platform includes a pay-later option in the form of short-term loans for marketing and home improvements to vendors (owners selling their properties), along with early settlement cash releases.


As we continue to experience growth and success, we are seeking an individual with proven leadership experience, expertise, and analytical acumen to refine our existing foundations and unleash the full potential of our team and results. We need someone who can effortlessly switch between management and hands-on tasks, coupled with strong leadership abilities to inspire and drive the team towards success. 

Your proficiency in data analysis to craft insightful reports, gauge success, and implement enhanced processes for boosting collections is crucial.

Position Overview:

As the Collections Team Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our continued success. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance our credit collection processes.
  • Setting and achieving payment collection goals in collaboration with the team.
  • Producing insightful weekly reports on our arrears position with the support of our Credit Analyst.
  • Refining collections policies and procedures to minimise arrears and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Jump in and get your hands dirty by contributing to team activity and KPIs when required. 
  • Negotiating with customers in cases of non-payment.
  • Providing mentorship and training to the Collections Team to maximise performance.
  • Become familiar with the processes of the entire customer care team to enhance your team's efficiency and be able to step in and offer assistance when required.

About You:

  • Proven experience in team leadership and development.
  • A solid understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks in regard to consumer lending.
  • Proficiency in debt negotiation and management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
  • The ability to motivate and collaborate effectively.
  • A keenness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in non-bank, consumer-facing lending is a plus but not essential.
  • We’re offering a 12-month contract, with the view to move to a permanent contract as the business continues to grow with your success in the role.
  • Remuneration will be based on your experience and skillset for the role.
