OPPORTUNITY

Carriageworks presents a diverse contemporary program encompassing music, dance, theatre, visual arts, creative industries, and artist development projects for all ages. Reporting to the Head of Programming, the role collaborates with program, production, and other teams to develop, deliver and present a range of programming at Carriageworks. Emphasising community engagement and audience development, particularly among youth and families, this position contributes across the spectrum of Carriageworks' offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DAY TO DAY

As the Producer, Programs at Carriageworks, your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Collaborating with presenting partner companies to successfully deliver Program projects that are of high artistic integrity
  • Working collaboratively within the Programming team to collectively deliver the Carriageworks Presents program
  • Working with the Programming team to formulate and deliver plans aimed at enhancing community engagement and supporting audience development, with a specific emphasis on youth and families.
  • Assisting in budget development and overseeing expenditure tracking until reconciliation.
  • Supporting the Marketing team by assisting with marketing plans and collateral creation, as well as contributing to ticket pricing strategies.
  • Liaising with the Production team to ensure prompt delivery of project documentation, helping with rostering, and managing resources effectively.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with Carriageworks' contractual commitments.
  • Providing administrative and project delivery support for the delivery and presentation of Carriageworks performance programs.  
  • For specific events, implementing project schedules, managing project budgets, arranging artist schedules, managing external contractors, booking flights and accommodation for artists and touring parties, organising and booking ground transport, riders and hospitality for artists   
  • Liaising with Carriageworks’ Communications team to collate and share accurate information for websites, social media and external sources.  

PREFERRED CRITERIA

We are seeking an individual with:

  • Working experience in developing, delivering and producing contemporary programming.
  • Experience working in the areas of community and youth engagement.
  • Experience working in the area of arts delivery for families.
  • Experience working closely with independent artists and companies.
  • Understanding of the needs of working with First Nations led programming
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to set priorities, develop plans and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S)   
  • Well-developed computer skills, including the competent use of Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite   
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including the capacity to work evenings and weekends.
