Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturing and metal fabrication company based at Lake Macquarie. With the business expanding into complementary services and management moving into other areas brought on by this growth we are searching for a GM to lead and grow the manufacturing and fabrication capacity.
 
We seek a driver, a proactive people leader, an individual that is looking to take ownership of safety, financial, productivity, people and quality. A person that understanding that the company owners will still be present but active in other growth areas. 
 
This role represents an opportunity for a hungry workshop manager looking to step up in their career, or a well established site general manager looking for a new exciting role.
 
The Role:  

• Proactive leadership of a 40+ strong workforce metal manufacturing facility
• Capacity to work with ownership to help structure future vision and execute effectively
• Lead and inspire the team, fostering job satisfaction and increasing productivity.
• Ensure operational effectiveness and quality standards of the workshop are maintained
• Highly effective operational day to day management of a manufacturing facility.
• Driver of safety and production culture.

The Person:
 

• Proven work history in leadership of manufacturing / metal fabrication facilities
• Excellent people leadership experience - lead by example mentality is needed for this workshop based role
• Working financial management experience - proven history of ensuring strong financial performance
• Excellent communication skills
• Builder of effective and positive workplace relationships
• Ability to have tough conversations with the team and customers
• Experience ensuring production safety systems are adhered to and maintained
• Continuous improvement mentality
