Within its Research Programs and Services Branch, individuals have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in administering grants for the Discovery and Linkage Programs, as well as executing projects on behalf of other Commonwealth agencies.

Position Overview:
As a APS5 Program Officer, you'll manage various aspects of grant programs, blending project management, stakeholder engagement, and administration skills. From application support to project oversight, you'll contribute to high-quality outcomes and foster innovation within the branch.

Requirements:
  • Must be an Australia citizen.
  • Undergo ID verification check.
  • Undergo a Police Check
  • Previous qualifications and/or experience related to program and/or project management would be desired but not essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support and manage grant administration tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Interpret and apply policy, procedures, guidelines, and legislation consistently.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely advice to research sector and external stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration and manage professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use our Research Management System (RMS) and other internal systems to manage tasks effectively.
  • Propose and facilitate innovation initiatives to improve business practices.
  • Contribute to team building, workplace culture, and diversity and inclusion efforts.
 
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Sound judgement, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects and/or programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage high-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for innovation.
 
Our Ideal Candidate:
Our ideal candidate is highly organised with excellent communication skills. Proficiency in office software and basic financial administration is required. We're looking for someone who's innovative and eager to contribute to a positive workplace culture. Grant administration experience is a plus but not essential.
